Some good end of season races today. It doesn't seem 5 minutes since last years Ayr Gold Cup was running. Hope You had a good afternoon last week Ken. Missed your Sunday post Maydup, but the answer would have been not very well. Haha.
Still, nothing to stop me trying again today. Have gone for "old favourites" of mine that should at least give me a run for my money. Good luck if you indulge.
True Mason @3/1 2.55 Newbury
Firelight @ 6/1 3.15 Ayr
Mr Lupton @8/1 3.30 Newbury
Growl @9/1 3.50 Ayr
£1.00 E/W Acca. 4 X 30p Trebles. 6 X 30p Doubles. £5.00 Total Stake. I am also pondering doing a 2 X 2 E/W Double in the Silver and Gold cups. Will post when I have settled on the other 3 horses to put with Growl.

Also, having paid £33 entry fee, i had hoped we would be able to see much more of the track! Instead we had to rely on the big screen to watch the races develop, then turn our heads to watch the last couple of hundred yards. Gonna try the 'cheap seats' (£10) next time as i'm sure we'll be able to see much more of the track with no buildings obscuring our view, though we would have to rely on the big screen for the end of the race.
Made a mistake today and backed one of these four accidentally (meant to go for another). Not saying which one, but having studied long and hard with the other 3, it's probably the only one that will threaten :-/
1.45 N'b; Kassar @ 10/1 (enhanced place)
2.00 Ayr; Borodin @ 6/1
2.40 Ayr; Dakota Gold @ 9/1
3.30 N'b; El Astronaute @ 13/2
20p L15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £74, 4 winners = £7,794
Also £2.50 e.w. in the Gold Cup on Get Knotted @ 18/1 (was gonna do it with Sky who are paying 7 places but they only go 14s). Placed = £13.75, win = £61.25.
Best of luck, all.

Glad you had a good day Ken. I always head for the county stand when I go as it gives access to the parade ring across the track. The best view if free. From the walls outside the course. You can see all the track and hear the commentary.
In the end I did Quick Look and Presidential in the Silver Cup then Growl and Muntadab in the Gold Cup. 4 X 50p E/W Doubles.
