This foul weather has taken a heavy toll on today's activities with Ascot abandoned and many fields decimated by non-runners. So, rather than diving in headfirst, i'm just dipping my toe in, today, with stakes lowered considerably on all my bets.
Sprightly @ 13/2 - 3.25 Red
Ben Lilly @ 11/4 - 4.00 Red
Breguet Boy @ 10/1 - 4.35 Red
Abate @ 6/1 - 5.05 Red
20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca - not enough confidence to risk the usual £20 on win/e.w. singles). 4 placed = £30, 4 winners = £2,683
£1 e.w. George Scott @ boosted odds of 17.5/1 - 1.40 N'm
£2 win Billesdon Brook @ boosted odds of 10.88/1 - 2.45 N'm
Best of luck if you're having a bash.

Everywhere else will be like a quagmire. Can't believe it is Arc day tomorrow. That does confirm that the year end is just around the corner. Where did it go? Would love to se Enable do it but I am fearful of Both Stradivarius and Sottsass, we will see. There will definitely be a bit of teaming up against here. Picked 5 runners in a bet today with a £1 trixie*** in there and small e/w 5,4,timers and trebles. Also done a daft long odds double paying 5 places on Tinchoo@200/1 1.40 Nm and Sands In Time @35/13.25 Red. Good luck and stay dry.
Oti Ma Boati* @11/2 2.10Nm.
Terrebellum* @11/2 2.45Nm.
Mamba Wamba* @10/1 3.25Red.
Amor Fati @11/2 4.50 Wolv.
Manshood @25/1 5.05 Red.
The last one is handy in the soft and well drawn. Also one that owes me. It is from the stable that I put together last winter, and won first time out, then proceeded to skin me.

Another snippet Ken... The 3.05 Ascot race that should have been run today had Gabriel The Wire lurking right at the bottom of the handicap. It was priced at about 40/1 and late yesterday someone was having a little nibble at the big odds probably for a place. My pal the bookie shop manager texted me and gave me a heads up. We had been having a chinwag about Koukash and his runners a few weeks back and generally having a bit of a laugh about it. He confirmed that they often get messaged to watch out for "unusual" bets placed on his runners. Haha. I think we knew that anyway.
I really do hope Frankie and Enable can do the business, tomorrow, Togo. If Enable doesn't win, it would be like Usain Bolt taking only bronze in his last ever race :-(
I had, thankfully, only got around to studying the 2nd race on Ascot's card before i discovered it had been abandoned. So i hadn't noticed the Gabrial horse. Don't know whether or not i'd have been tempted to part with a couple of quid :-))

Have had a very good look at the runners over in France and have chosen 3 who ought to quite like the heavy conditions and who have some sort of chance despite their prices.
1.50; King's Harlequin @ 11/2
3.50; Ambition @ 12/1
4.25; Air De Valse @ 11/1
Win singles, 50p Patent, 75p e.w. Treble. 3 placed = £17, 3 winners = £1,459.
Would love to see Enable retire after winning her 3rd Arc but the going may just be against her. Gone for a £2.50 e.w. punt on Persian King @ 12/1 with Sky paying on 4 places.
Also a £1 e.w. on Irska @ 33/1 in the 4.55.
Good luck, all.

Just listening to Matt Chapman talking out of his fart factory. He's just run through the Arc runners and said of Persian King (my e.w. fancy) "Doesn't like the soft and may not stay".) Granted, i am taking on trust the horse's ability to get the trip, but it has run once on heavy, winning a Group 1 at Longchamp over 8f in 2019, and once on soft, lto, winning another Group 1 at Longchamp, again over 8f. How does that equate to not liking the soft?
Hello Punters
Can you help me with the rule of 4 please? By the time you read this I may have won or lost my bets but still curious!
I have two outside bets on the Arc with two different bookmakers. One is deducting 10p in the pound and the other 15p. Is the deduction at he bookmakers discretion or is it to do with the original price I took?
