The wait is almost over for punters, like me, who really look forward to the Festival and 4 days of top-class racing.
Betting firms will be battling each other to give us punters the best 'offers' and, as and when i discover them, i'll post them on this thread. Hopefully, some of you will do the same.
Apart from the one i mentioned on the 'Saturday Punt' thread*, the only ones i have to hand at the moment are from SkyBet;
They are offering to refund all stakes if your horse is beaten in the FIRST race of the day (applies to all 4 days) your stake will be refunded in cash. There will, of course, be number of runner and maximum stakes rules, but that will be decided on the day.
SkyBet have also kindly forewarned punters in which races, for the first 2 days, they are offering extra places. They are as follows;
Tues; 2.50; 8/instead of 4, 4.10; 4/3, 4.50; 4/3
Wed; 2.10; 4/3, 2.50; 8/4, 4.10; 4/3, 4.50; 6/4, 5.30; 5/4

Having watched the 'wrong' De Bromhead horse win the 4.50, i thought Day 2 would pass without a winner. However, A Dream To Share upheld some strong stats in the 5.30, coming from almost last to first, and, together with the e.w. cash, ensured me a small (but welcome) profit for the 2nd day running.
A glance at tomorrow's card tells me there are 3 decent handicaps which to get my teeth into.

Mighty Potter is certainly worth it's odd-on status in the 1.30 but, taking advantage of Sky's 'cash back' offer, i've put a fiver on Nicky Henderson's Balco Coastal at 11/1.
The 'obvious danger (on paper and according to all the 'experts) is the Mullins first string, Appreciate It. However, the stats for this race show that all bar one of the last 11 winners of this race had finished 1st or 2nd last time out. Balco Coastal was 2nd to Gerri Colombe who, with one more stride, would have got up to beat The Real Whacker here yesterday. So the form was 'franked' somewhat.
Wouldn't try and put anyone off Appreciate It, by the way, as the only horse to have won this race without being 1st or 2nd lto, was
Black Hercules, trained by Mullins, which had come to grief in it's prep race.

Just done the same with Balco Coastal Ken. Mighty Potter has to be in the ITV7 and the two "pots" mind.
Tony Bloom the owner of Energumeme is also the Crystal Palace gaffer too Dt. Yesterday he put £600k on and picked up £830k. He had £725k on it when it lost on Boxing Day. Gulp. Bloom is also English not Irish and is a top table poker player. The horse is trained in Ireland and was bred in France by Christophe Dubourg .

Sorted.. Had a bit of "get out of jail" yesterday with the return from Langer Dan on A Dream To Share in the last. Was very happy with that. I had done Falco using the offer before I had logged in here Ken so hope I didn't jinx it. :))Done the Jackpot and Placepot although I cant see the placepot paying much. It looks like a day to watch more than flutter but the racing will be good. ***E/W Trixie. #Win Acca & Trebles. ~"Pots". Good Luck everyone.

I have done the Place6 a few times, Togo. The beauty of it is the 'cash-out' option, which of course is not available with the PP and JP. Back in the day, when i was using noisy, smoke-filled betting shops, i sometimes did an e.w. acca in addition to my placepots if i believed 4 or 5 favs might place and lessen the payout.
