The Aussies are finally out and so England need 391 to win, which will be a new record for England against anyone.

Our batsmen have been scoring well in recent times (apart from the 1st innings in this game), and a lot of Aussies dismissals were because of their mistakes, the pitch seems ok for batting.

There's plenty of time left so no need to rush things, we are going to win this game, and the Ashes... aren't we?

hmmm, interesting

or not
The odds are against them as only 2% of teams chasing over 300 in Perth have won, but South Africa knocked off 414 for only 4 wickets a couple of years ago.

If England get off to a good start they will do it.
Question Author
it's a bit nervy so far
But if we just stay "in" ... it will be a draw, yes ?

And we get to keep the Ashes ?
Question Author
2 more days left after this one means that a draw is very very unlikely - either the runs will be scored or the wickets taken in such a long time.

And the 1st wicket has gone down already.

Two days left ???

Crikey. So there's been ...

Aussies all out ... Us all out ... Aussies all out again ... Us back in again ...

... all in just three days?

That sounds a bit more exciting than usual.

None of the 3 innings so far has been particularly long by test match standards, but it does mean that there should be a decisive result.

If England when then we retain the Ashes because we can't be beaten over the series. But a win for Australia would still mean that they have to win at least one of the 2 remaining games, and they would probably do that.

And with 2 wickets down now, the Aussies look odds on to win this one.

^ should read "If England win then..."
I've just looked at my last post.

I didn't really mean to suggest that cricket's not exciting.

Sorry.

I'm not THAT interested in it either because it can be all too often as dull as ditchwater on a midsummer day in Death Valley. But it always feels good to beat Oz at any sport.
Yes, we beat them in the the World Netball Series in November.

We beat them in the semi final.
Question Author
apologies to everyone for putting the mockers on
Gloom, the news just said it looks like Oz will win.... comment?

For England to get out of this will take a bigger miracle than tomorrow turning out to be the hottest day of the year.
