13 Premier Clubs Out Of Fa Cup
After only two rounds of the FA Cup 13 Premier League clubs are already out.
Is it that most Premier clubs are more concerned about keeping their Premier league place so field weakened teams in the FA Cup.
I also notice 3 out the 4 teams who are left in the Europa league are also out (and the other, Chelsea, only got a draw). Maybe they dont care much about the FA Cup either.
Cant see when Chelsea will play their replay with Europe league and England matches coming up in midweek. They may have to play the replay on FA Cup 6th round day.

Those are the winners since the "greed league" was created I'd say the "big boys" take it seriously.
Only Portsmouth,Everton and Liverpool have won it and not been title contenders at the time.
Chelski have won it 6 times since 1997..I think they care!

I agree with mightyWBA. The big clubs DO care about the FA Cup if perhaps not quite as much as before. And in fact lower lge teams seem just as likely to field weakened teams. One idiotic suggestion I have heard is that winning the FA Cup should attract a Champions Lge place. All because a few Premier Lge teams go out in one go. You can't generalise on the basis of one or two rounds and the list of finalists is a much more accurate guide.
We love cup upsets - just not too many of them(!)

Absolutely right. Clubs get 500k for each place in the league whereas they only get a winners fee for the FA cup plus any gate money. For smaller clubs it is great because they get much needed increased revenue from a good cup run playing against Premier teams. For the Premier clubs they use it as a blooding exercise for their fringe players.
This is what the TV money from Sky, the separation of the top league from the rest of football and the corruption within the FA has done to our beloved game. All started with ManU being allowed not to participate in the FA Cup so they can play in the World Club Championship (Chelsea never had that concession) and followed by Wenger but now spread to all Prem clubs and even some Championship clubs.
We are meant to have arguably the best league in the world but we had that already. Look what money did to the Italian league and it is happening here now. Too many foreign players on ridiculous wages, sky high ticket prices and money-laundering owners.
Oh, for the good old days when footballers were fottballers and not Olympic divers!
