Just read that Ronnie turned down the chance of 147 break at the Welsh Open
for £10,000 said it was too cheap, he's not worth watching!

Arrogant git Once upon a time sport was about winning, nowadays people like O’Sullivan only care how much money they can get out of it

Don't know the details but it sounds very arrogant.
He was thinking of others! It was won recently and £5000 is added to the total after each top tournament until someone gets 147.
There are children starving in the world Ronnie.you could have helped them-Berk !
Big headed rsole
Perhaps he was being magnanimous and leaving it for someone else to win.
usual Ronnie. up and down like ho's drawers. or else he couldn't pot it.
I wonder if many punters had a bet on him clearing a 147. Seems a bit like cheating or fixing.
Poor soul, he's the Stephen Fry of the green baize.
why should he get a fortune for something he can do left handed with his eyes shut?
It was his decision, just respect it.
When Ronnie's in full flow it's one of the most wonderful things in the world to watch. It's irritating when he does things like that but in a way it was also mildly amusing -- I feel for anyone who may have lost money on a 147 bet, but he remains my favourite player to watch. And today he knocked in another three century breaks without a care in the world.
His choice.....146 will most likely get him top break prize.
I feel for anyone in the audience who'd never seen a 147. As well as the charitable donation thing.
I admire Ronnie but maybe a bit more thought could have gone into it this time

Ah, it's precisely because he very much is worth watching, and he knows it, that he can do things like this.

For what is worth O'Sullivan has admitted an error of judgement.

He is a genius on the snooker table but so lacking in common sense.

I think RS is a very long way past the time when the money mattered - he is playing because he is driven to be the best.
Snooker would be very boring without him. I agree with jim360. Watching him in full flow is one of the most fantastic things to watch in sport - another is the team pursuit in track cycling, but I'm going off topic here - Ronnie can do what he wants IMO.
The 147 pot accumulates with each ranking tournament. O' Sullivan enquirer what the pot was worth, and elected to go for an easier pot so that the 147 prize will continue to grow. Seems reasonable to me.

He is a very gifted player, and does not need £10K so why all the grief.
Snooker players now are .."entertainers" and people pay good money to be ..."entertained."

The audience wanted and paid to see a 147, not a 146 and R O'S should have gone for the 147, whatever the prize money.

Yes he is a gifted player, but without the spectators his talents would be worth very little.
