"I also rowed for my school (Wandsworth Boys)in the mid to late 70s from Putney, i wonder if you were around then??"
Bit too late for me, Paul !!!
Golf would be an ideal sport for TV, Mikey, if they didn't show it live. They could record the rounds and then edit the recordings so that viewers could see (say) all the first shots on the first hole, followed by all the second shots and so on. Or they could show a complete round for player A, followed by a complete round by player B etc. In any event, 70-ish shots at about three or four seconds a shot, complete round shown in about four minutes. Obviously cut out all that fannying around where they swing the club two yards away from the ball and where they stand for ten minutes looking a the grass trying to see what way the ball will veer off course. Main thing, of course, is that it will cut out what 95% of golf coverage consists of -i.e. two blokes trudging across a field followed by two other blokes carrying their bags.
