All that happens is that one team gets an 8 foot tall player to stretch his arms and put a ball through a hoop from close range. The other team gets the ball and does the same and after an hour there is little difference in the scores and the winning basket is scored in the last few seconds. Why not have done with it and play games only lasting say 10 seconds - first team to score wins.
I take it you're not going to watch the Boat Race, then? (We always have a question or two like this on Boat Race day. Often it's to do with rowing being an "elitist" sport).
All sports are boring if you don't like them. Personally I find football to be among the most tedious games around. But I appreciate many people like it. I like rowing because I rowed at school and I understand the effort and skill required to row over four miles on a tidal river in 16 to 20 minutes. (I've rowed the Boat Race course myself three times competitively, but in reverse from Mortlake to Putney when taking part in the Schools' "Head of the River" race). Hence my interest. If you tried it you discover it is skillful, very strenuous and not at all boring. :-)

Presumably we're talking 'boring to watch' in which case it's entirely subjective.
Personally I think rowing is quite exciting and that for dullness it would be hard to beat (proper) wrestling or F1 motor racing.
I wonder what is the most boring sport to play though (!)
Playing football for Celtic at the moment I'd have thought must be up there :-)
