Hey, guys ...

I thought I'd drop in, and see if anyone is chatting about the Winter Games? Opening Ceremony today.

Team GB have already lost Katie Ormerod, who's fractured her heel in training. Has anyone seen the photo of her x-ray? It looks really painful. I feel heartbroken for Katie.

On the positive front, Eve Muirhead is sounding focused, and optimistic ... another Curling Gold for Team GB? Fingers crossed!

And Lizzy Yarnold ... high hopes!! ... could she actually retain her Sochi Skeleton Gold? Hopes, hopes ...

Lindsey Vonn is back for the US, so that will be exciting.

And that wacky Olympic Stadium! They've built this stadium ... it will only be used for the Opening and Closing ceremonies ... and then they're going to knock it down!

Then, there's the Russians!! "Russian athletes" can't compete, but "athletes from Russia" can. And they can have their national anthem, and their flag ... not "for" Russia, but because they are "from" Russia. Gotta LOL

Anyway, hope you're all keeping well. Be ready to cheer at your telly for the next two weeks (and three days). Be good ... big hugs ... love JJ x

Hello, Douglas x

Hi, Zacs x
It isn’t really day one: events have been going on for several days, of course. Controversy in the curling already :-)
Having boycotted the Putin drugfest 4 years ago I’m looking forward to getting back to it :/)
Hello, JJ. Nice to see you back.
Hi, JJ......about time! I've missed you.....

Heartbroken for Katie too......what a crushing disappointment for her.... :-(

I'll be glued to the curling.....and rooting for GB.....even though I'm not British....... ;-)...x

Hi, Tilly x

Ichkeria, yes, some competitions have already started. Is this the Chinese guy who moved the Swiss stone? It looked like it was accidental, wasn't it? x

Hey, gness x
@ tilly "Hello, JJ. Nice to see you back".
she has a nice front too x
good to see you posting jj
Hi JJ
I think it was JJ: but I wouldn't want to argue with a curler.
All that pent-up agression. When you see your fellow Olympians hurtling down hills, luge tracks, round skating arenas or whacking a puck into your opponent's foot it must be very frustrating to look like Mrs Mopp fastidiously sweeping the cobwebs off the ice

Only kidding of course :-)

Hi, Voltage ... x

Okay, that's probably been done lots of times before.
lol jj how are you x

I'm very well, thanks Volty x
Hi JJ Good to see you back you have been sorely missed.
Redman sends his regards, I see your favourite footballer has been scoring a few goals (David Goodwillie)

We will be watching a lot of the events I love the maddest ones like the half pipe and moghals (if that is how you spell it) Hot chocolate in hand
Disappointed for Katie Ormerod, she has a wrist injury too. Was looking forward to to seeing her, as well as others of course.

I'm looking forward to the long/ short track speed skating
I'm really looking forward to this, especially Elise Christie in the short track speed skating. I hope she can make up for her disappointment from last time.
Have been enjoying the Snowboarding and the distance ski events. Had to laugh at a comment I heard regarding how cold it was out there. It transpires that it is so parky that the Geordie lasses in the GB team have even taken to putting cardies on with their t shirts. :))
The OAR lady curler in the mixed doubles has excited my interest in sliding my stones about....
