Football, Why Dont They Just Stop The Clock For Stoppages?

Bring back the old days...let the ref decide and stop effing about with krapp. This isn't footie IMO now.... It's calculated kerapp to suit the politically correct. The footie followers of yrs ago mut be turning in their proverbial..... Stop all the sheer...ite and get on with the game!

the ref does decide, and he also stops his watch so he knows but the clock on the TV and in the stadium never stops. So they hold up the board to say how long stoppage time is but that does not take account of stoppages in stoppage time.

I think there's lot of time wasting in football that is cheating the fans. In a premier league match, there is probably only about 40 minutes of actual play. There should be time keepers who stop the clock when the ball is out of play. Running down the clock by introducing a substitute is cheating, in my opinion. It will be argued that games would take too long, but this would change when players realise they can't employ time wasting tactics. I also think there should be a time out allowed in each half, when a throw in is awarded. But all of this will be ridiculed by retro thinking dinosaurs.
