At 0400 our time, Australia will come to a halt while millions will be watching the Melbourne Cup. I wasn't going to bother having a dabble, but i've managed to get 3 out of 4 at Newcastle tonight so i thought i might ride my luck, so to speak. I received £147.34 for my 3 winners so i'm being brave enough to risk the £7.34:-) I quite fancy the chances of last year's 4th placed Finche (£4.34 win @ 8/1) and have also done a £11.50 e.w. on Frankie's ride, Master Of Reality (Sabbath's best album by far) @ around 25/1. I haven't set my alarm but i am taking my laptop upstairs with me, just in case i do wake up around that time.

Yes. And they get weight allowances because like humans, they're not as good as the males.(usually)
There are a lot of gender specific races as well.

I woke about half 6 and watched it on RUK. Thought i'd struck gold for quite some time. Not quite good enough in the end but i did make a little profit from the race (despite mine being demoted to 4th):-)
