Snooker Misses

I love snooker and thought I understood the rules, but....
I’ve seen players play and miss, and a foul and miss has been called. The opponent can ask for the balls to be replaced. Sometimes it seems there is no limit but other times I’ve seen the player warned that if he doesn’t get it on his third attempt he’ll lose the frame.
What’s the difference, please?

If he was, he had the moral high ground because he did call "Green" ...

But I think really he was just saying, "Come on, I called it, these people agree, are you calling me a liar?"

I'm not sure Referees are meant to take into account the opinions of folk in the crowd.

I used to play at WMC level and have had to ref many a game. I know full well i have missed the odd foul stroke because my line of sight was briefly interrupted. This has resulted in members of the 'wronged' team giving me the absolute sh it eye, even my own mates. However, a ref cannot call what he does not see - or perhaps hear. And, in those circumstances, the honesty of the players involved is a great help.

They sometimes cant see the object ball, It depends where the object ball is, if he can see it and chooses to miss it deliberately (normally so he doesn't disturb what he can see) thats classed as a deliberate miss. As answered below 3 deliberate misses on a ball you can see (or balls) then that frame is forfeited.

They dont mate, thankfully the referee makes that decision, the attempt has to be deemed good enough, thats the rule!

You are the one using "deliberate miss" but that is nothing to do with the three-misses rule.

You cannot say they do or don't deliberately miss, only the player knows that, snooker players are not infallible, they are capable of mistakes or being wrong in judgement. they aren't supposed to deliberately throw games are they? 23 cases last count bans totalling well over 40 years in total.
