As the header indicates, the top league in the Netherlands nears it's climax ad there are a few outstanding issues top be resolved. Ajax have secured the title, but both PSV (68 points) and AZ Alkmaar (67) are battling it oit for 2nd spot and automatic qualification to the Champion's League. PSV have the easier task, today, as they host bottom half Zwolle who have nothing but pride to play for. Alkmaar are away at Groningen who can cement their place in the Europa League play off if they get at least a point.
However, Alkmaar are the 2nd best away side in this league.
A win (or even a draw) will secure a Europa League place for Vitesse who travel to Sittard, a team with an outside chance of qualifying for the aforementioned play-offs. They sit just 3 points outside the play-For Funks Sake but they have lost 3 of their last 4 home fixtures andI think Vitesse can beat them.
FC Emmen, who host Heerenveen, are in danger of relegation but have shown a bit of fight in recent weeks. their home record reads 3-4-9, but those 3 wins (and a draw) have come in their last 5 home matches. Their visitors have nothing to play for and i'm hopeful of a home win.
