I have just read that,sadly, Roger Hunt one of the stars of England’s
1966 World Cup win has died he was 83.A now sadly dwindling band.

That’s true Mozz.Also following the death of Jimmy Greaves very few of the 11 other members of the squad are left alive now.

Ken,I remember it being said that Roger Hunt was so convinced Geoff Hurst had scored that third goal he didn’t follow it up and score himself to make sure.

I was his personal waiter in the euros in 1996. He came across as very quiet, and non demanding, to the point of not wanting me to interupt his viewing experience. Btw he was watching holland v scotland at villa park.
