As i sort of predicted a couple of weeks back, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are now neck and neck in the race to the F1 Championship. This follows an incident packed Saudi Arabia Grand Prix which Hamilton won, beating his rival into 2nd place. The pair came together on more than one occasion and, of course, each is blaming the other. Verstappen also wasn't happy about having to allow Hamilton re-take the lead after an illegal overtaking manoeuvre. The Brit also took the bonus point for fastest lap and the scene is now set for the 'shoot-out' next weekend in Abu Dhabi.
Should both drivers fail to finish, Verstappen takes the title because he has more wins to his name this season. Just looked at the odds in the hope prices would be on offer as to just how the title might be decided (i was going to have a little bet on neither car finishing) but the betting is 'normal' with Lewis odds-on to win his 8th title.
I'm not a big F1 fan, but this is quite unusual, it's not been this close for aaaaages.
It's now basically a one-off race and whoever finishes ahead of the other, wins the championship.
It's a shame they can't tie ..... place your bets !!
//// can we bet on them crashing into each other? ////
Well ..... if Verstappen "accidentally" crashed into Hamilton and took the both out of the race, he'd win the championship. It wouldn't surprise me if the odds on these two crashing into each other was odds on !!
