Maybe he'd of been another Miquel Arteta if they'd give him more time.
They can get "popeye" Moyes back then?

perfect swap, moyes to everton, lampard to west ham.
From your link:
"Everton are now looking for their sixth permanent manager in five years."

The definition of 'permanent' seems to have changed quite a lot since my younger days, I think ;-)
From my (very!) limited knowledge of football, there seems to be a fine line between giving a manager enough time to improve things, but not so long that he simply makes things worse.

Since Everton are effectively back where they were twelve months ago, it is fair to say that a change us needed, and he was given enough time, but failed to turn things round.
Football managers, like managers in other jobs rely on those working under them to shine so they can bask in reflected glory.

As an expert in gum chewing, glowering and random arm waving I'm putting myself forward for the vacant position.
Sticking plaster for a deep wound.

Big Sam? Oh no, they've tried him.
