I do recall Sean Dyche being sacked by the new owners of Watford back in the day, days after they took over. They had had a verbal agreement with Zola to manage if the takeover was successful.

Mind you, Watford's turnover of managers is quite impressive, particularly since 2000; 24 managers in 23 years!

It is sad that these managers are not given any decent time to do their jobs. Some owners are too quick to dismiss people when the outcome would end up the same anyway.
