What is this strange obsession with wanting to watch football on the telly in a pub? Surely it's more comfortable at home (with the added advantage that you don't annoy anybody else).
Not that I wold watch anyway but I have a TV but no licence, therefore I cannot watch live TV. I refuse to pay the socialist BBC tax and havnt for nearly 3 years now.
Fancy wanting to go out and socialise instead of staying at home watching TV. Wotever next ? People socialising on the internet from home, never going out at all ?
Just watched Coronation Street ? - quick, log on to Answerbank to chew it over with all your friends stuck to their keyboards.
Well, the beer used to be better at the pub. Although if they bother having ale on tap these days the choice is limited. You have to search to find one with a decent body rather than some light nonsense.
Needless to say I am vehemently opposed to football being shown in pubs. It ruins the atmosphere for those who have no interest in the game and effectively makes them off limits for people who don't want to be surrounded by raving lunatics. I don't understand the "shared experience" aspect. I've never needed to share any experiences when watching sport though I appreciate that others might want to. I just wish they'd share them somewhere more appropriate.
