As a United fan I can't say I'm gutted, as I do respect what he's done for Liverpool. However it might give the team an even further push to match United's 20 Top flight League titles.

As one other famous Liverpudlian said: All Things Must Pass. This is strange. He said he made the decision back in December. Since then it's quite clear that Liverpool have a decent chance of winning 4 trophies, then he decides it's time to go? Nah!!! Something's changed in his life. I think he's received an offer he can't refuse. I don't know where from or from whom but I would guess that's what's happened.
