Do you think the Three Lions can really do it?

I wouldn't underestimate their new-found determination.

I would love them to succeed, they've never won a major international tournament in my lifetime.

Quite, ToraToraTora.  I shall be rooting for them. I think there will be a few ciders and Barcardis consumed in this house on Sunday.

Yes they can. I though so before kick off. I had a little bet on England to win it with Kane as top scorer. The bet is still on. I remember the 1966 win very well and watching in black and white on the pub telly as an 18yr old. Heady times. We have done well at times in the youth teams also.

Did you see me on the telly Togo?  I was to the right of the goal Hurst completed his hat trick.

Before the tournament started Yes... a very good chance indeed!
Watching them play through the group stages etc... was like a reality check get a grip!
If they can sustain the level of play they showed in the first half of last nights game, then I don't think we have anything to fear from Spain.

I just hope Gareth can adapt the sytem a little sooner than he has is past games tactical or subs.

I published this one earlier:

The Dutch national team visited a Ukrainian orphanage in Germany before heading back home.

"The sight of the empty, hopeless, and sad faces deeply affected us," said 12-year-old orphan Ivan Vayushew.

well, no, "football's coming home" was written about Euro 96, the point being that it was staged in England, not abroad.  This one's being held in Germany, so it's not home. All the more kudos if they win it away, if you ask me.

It was lovely to hear creepy Koeman, the Dutch manager moaning about the penalty. Is this the same cheat who dragged down David Platt in 1994 and should have been sent off according to the last man rule? Then went on to score the winning goal. Karma takes it's time, waiting for the most decisive moment to even the cosmic balance. Some of us are lucky enough to witnesss and recognise it.

Germany won Euro 96' and its been banded about since then, so we're retrieving what is rightfully ours from the Father land.

It was 1993 not 94 in a must win World cup qualifier for England. The git. Let em moan and remember. Never let the Euoropean Nations put you on a guilt trip. They are not worthy.

Was that the game that Graham Taylor famously said

"Do I not Like that' ?

No Arks, he told the refs assistant "tell the referee he has just got me the sack".

Thanks yeah I did know that one, I saw it last night before the game... I thought maybe it was the same game.

If they play good attacking football and lose we will all be cheering and proud.

If they they play the miserable defensive side passing stuff they did earlier but somehow win we will also be cheering and proud.

Arksided 20:41, I couldn't agree more

Yes, they are capable of doing it if they do not capitulate. Spain are the slight favourites but England have shown some steel in this competition and could bring the trophy home.

Ththere was a lot of anti English moaning about the penalty last night. I said the VAR guys gave it and they must know what they are looking at. Anyway even if it's wrong we've had enough iffy decisions against us in the past from the hand of god to the Platt fiasco so if one goes our way then be grateful.

20:54 in the words of Russell Case in "Independence Day" - "Payback's a btch ain't it" - please mods don't mangle this It's a film quote.
