Well what?
Question Author
are you glad or wot!!
Agree he did look tired, good gamd tho, best player won.
'well'

Yes, he did well... considering Roddick was on top of his game... roll on 2010...
Typical Scotsman, his let down the whole of the UK!
Yeah Bl00dy sweaty, knew he'd let the side down!
hes abit like Tim Henman... letting us down....

but Andy is only 22. he'll bounce back.
still Henman Hill then..................
Wish I could freeze this moment in time and play it back in 10yrs to all who revel in his defeat.Words will be eaten !

I have spoken to English people living beside me as well as Scottish people and they are at a loss at the hatred towards him shown by certain factions.

He is the consumate professional -so he doesnt model for Armani or appear in Nike adverts -that should give him more respect and kudos.

hey dris I don't revel in his defeat....I wish he'd won. Just think it's funny how people have a pop at Henman who got to number 4 in the world, and 4 wimbledon semi's yet slate him when comparing him to Murray......
craft -I wasnt pointing fingers on this thread.

Have to say though that Murray is in a totally different class from Henman - even Henman said it -beat that lol.

We should be really chuffed at this young man -I am and so were all the crowds at the Centre Court along with all the ex pros's commentating -just a minority who dont like Scots i guess -said it before but I wouldnt lose sleep and I know he wont.
i guess now that he has lost he will become " scottish " again rather than british !!!

bez I totally agree and I have no clue where it came from.
He has been accused of things he quite simply didnt say so they have all become urban myths and some take it as fact -without having anything to back them up which would be difficuly as he didnt say them -phew !!

Hope youre good hun xx

O Dustinmyeye -he will always be Scottish to me -we are just a small nation half the size of London in population but we have a lot of pride in our kin.
Hello Dris :-)
Give me an honest answer.
Would you support him so much if he was English?
He's rubbed a lot of English people up the wrong way.. I have no axe to grind with him personally and would love to see a Wimbledon champion from these islands.
It's sad the United Kingdom isn't united anymore.
I consider myself British but some are more British than others.
Lets hope Britains Jensen Button can win the Formula one title :-)
:bez:

Well said. Andy did Britain proud and I was shouting him on in the same manner I used to do for Tim Henman.

craft:

Murray's ahead of Henman at this stage of his career. He may or may not end up surpassing Tim's achievements, time will tell, but why is it, as has been pointed out, that some people seem that they'd rather have seen him hammered in the first round?

Had he and we been American, we'd all be raving about him but, in typical Brit style, we have to let ancient enmities get in the way. Pathetic.

The guy's a champion in waiting. I just hope we don't have to wait much longer for that elusive first grand slam.

Thats the way it should be -we are more tonque in cheek -have to be to be honest lol!!
We are either sugar or sh!te :)
paraffin I could not agree more......I would love to see Murray do well.......it just annoys me that people don't equally understand how well Henman did......and lets face it apart from the adopted Canadian he was on his own as well. Anyway, I can't lose (or win) either way....my mother's english and my father's scottish......
