arranged Test Match defeats?

if a Test Match series and/or one-day series was obviously one-sided, do you think the dominant side might consider losing one potentially key match to ensure tickets sell for the final match of the series? I couldn't possibly state which two series I'm referring to here, but I seriously suspect that has happened.

a touch cynical...it might just be that the superior side were simply very complacent...the just have to turn up mentality....and the weaker side raised their game to capitalise on it....but thebn again it seems to happen in other sports too

no. Their wages are guaranteed, so they have nothing to gain. The real problem these days is spot-betting where you gamble not on the outcome of a game or a series but on small details - such as how many no-balls are bowled in a cricket match.
