Doesn't Dame Edna Everage play for the Australian Team ?

Aussies are ranked World Nr 1 at the mo, redman.
Yes, I’ll give it my full backing. On the understanding:

1. That the Prime Minister and future king of England are not involved in the bidding process.

2.That the BBC does not devote 50% of its news coverage to the result of the bid, which is essentially a one-liner (i.e. England were successful in their bid to host the 2015 world netball championships. And now, the weather...”)

3. That grown men with crosses of St George painted on their faces do not appear on the steps of Birmingham Town Hall in tears should we be unsuccessful.

4. That every news bulletin on every station is not overwhelmed with “the build up to the tournament from about 2 years prior to the kick-off (or whatever they do in netball).

5. That every TV station is not saturated with netball for the duration of the tournament.

6. That every TV station is not saturated with post mortems and analyses after every match and after the tournament.

7. That it does not spoil my summer holiday in 2015 and the farcical shenanigans in South Africa did this year.

Other than that, bring it on !!!
Sorry. should read "...AS the farcical shenanigans in South Africa did this year."

Getting tired.

I think you'll be okay with most of those, NJ.

1. Definitely no inappropriate people roped into the bid.

2. Maybe just a LITTLE bit of coverage wouldn't go amiss? Actually, most Netball coverage is on Sky Sports 3, so I think you'll be safe.

3. Face painting? Mmm ... that's a bit of a "football" thing. Also, the host city will be Manchester so, if you do get any face-painted grown men, they will probably be outside Manchester Town Hall, rather than Birmingham.

4. I get the feeling that the News coverage building up to the bid will not be overwhelming. (a Netball match is started with a "Centre Pass").

5. Just Sky Sports 3.

6. (as above)

7. Your summer in 2015 will offer the chance to watch hoards of athletic women from around the world, getting sweaty in short skirts. How hard can that be for a bloke? LOL. (and, on a serious note, the England team will be playing a sport at which we are actually quite competitive!).

So, on that basis, hope it's okay to "bring it on".

=0)

ps. The vote is in March next year.
With all those personal reassurances, JJ, the bid has my full support !!!
