Anyone know the process for a bid to host Euro 2020 (who is eligable to bid and timescales etc) and would/should England go for it?

Should England bid for it ... ?
No.

No, no, no, no !

Noooooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!!

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

No
No.
you don't think so, JJ?
I'm undecided.
I've noticed a lot of English personages recoilling in horror at the notion that their country might run anything, but I've never been sure why. They do the changing of the guard very professionally.

Perhaps sleep on it JJ?
I've chewed it over, jd ... and ...

... it's No !

I mean ... why would we want to ?
any reason why England shouldn't be expected to, just a matter of doing their share of the work? (Not saying they'd be allowed to, mind.)

Suppose similar reasons for and against as there was for World Cup. We dont have to cover old groung JJ, your comments were noted!
Isn't it better when it's held somewhere hot and jolly, like Spain, or ...

... you know ... wherever.

Hosting a tournament in the cold and rain is a bit miserable.

Like Quatar you mean??
jd ...

I'm not going to repeat any of my comments about the last bid.

Although you know what my feelings were, I feel desperately sorry for the hard core fans who would have loved to hold the World Cup here
Well, sort of ... although Qatar was a surreal decision.
ps ...

Although Qatar is definitely hot, it hardly qualifies as jolly.

If you get caught having a drink, they whip you and cut your hand off, or something.

I was just interested in whether a. England are eligable b. Is it feasible that we could mount a bid c. Should we?

Like you say JJ the world cup bid has been agrued back and forward and I didnt want to re-ignite such a debate on this thread.

JNO - No ention of England on your link, probabaly as they were focussed on World Cup at the time. But would they shift focus on to Euro's? Will have to see?
England could certainly stage it and as I suggested above maybe they have a duty to do so once in a while. But they may well feel as everyone hates them (not least a lot of their own countrymen) it's not worth the bother and expense of even bidding.
And there's always the risk that we would get knocked out early, and spend most of the tournament watching foreign teams play each other in our stadiums.

(I know ... "stadia" ... yeah, yeah)
