Re-installing Windows

How easy would it be for a novice to uninstall and reinstall Windows XP using the backup discs that were made when the computer was puchased. I have made copies (On a memory stick) of all the documents I need. I was thinking of using PC Worlds, system Reset & Restore service which costs £30. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's pretty easy, especially if you are using the proper restore disks for your computer because all the correct drivers will be installed automatically, rather than you hunting them down and having to install them yourself.

Put basically, put the CD in the drive, restart the computer, press any key when prompted to boot from the CD (if the prompt doesn't appear you may have to change the boot order) and then follow instructions on screen.

It should be very easy to use your restore discs as long as they`ve burned correctly, they often don`t.
You most likely have a restore partition which can be used without the discs, it`s an easier option.
The restore partition can be accessed by pressing a key or keys at startup the combination depends on the make and model of computer.
Which make and model is it?
You definitely don`t need to pay for restore, there`s nothing to it, whichever method you use.
