It is connected to the aerial and is very good. It records on the hard disk, one episode or a series, has a programme guide and extra free channels such as the MSN ones.
I haven't tried it with a little aerial.
It works through Windows Media Centre. Very easy to use all the functions. And of course I can burn recordings to dvd if I wish.

I have a Nebula TV card in my desktop PC which is connected by coax cable via an aerial splitter from the main aerial and works perfectly 99% of the time. On the odd occasion the monitor screen gets heavily pixelated, though the main 'branch' television remains unaffected, I'm pretty sure it's something to do with atmospherics when that happens.
I wouldn't be without it now!

They vary. My woman had a good one, but the company went out of business so there were no updates or support. She now has one from a well known company and it seems unable to cope well with the signal it receives.
(I know the signal she has is only just ok, so it should cope, but the signal should be better. However aerial experts she's paid to come look at her situation apparently can only fiddle in the loft for a bit, charge her for whatver they've done, and leave it with no real improvement.)
