Help Please, No Sound

at all on PC, not even the sound when windows starts up.
Have checked all leads to speakers etc, what else can I do as I cant chat to my family on Skype in OZ?

Have you accidentally clicked or pressed a mute button?

Have you recently installed anything?

If the speakers have their own power supply, might the fuse have blown?

Look at the bottom right of your screen. There should be a row of little icons, and a 'forward' button. You should be able to see the sound icon in the row - and whether it is on or off. If you don't see it in the row, click the forward button and you should then see it. If it has been muted it will have a red 'no entry' sign across it. Click on it and you can un-mute it.
