The order of items in my Inbox (Windows live mail, btinternet email address) has suddenly changed so that it's now completely random. I'm not aware of having clicked on anything by mistake. How could this happen, and how can I put it right, please? I usually have them listed in order starting from the earliest.

Apologies for asking too soon, I've got it back into the correct order, but I'd still like to know how it happened.
If it's like my programme, look above the incoming mail there are four headings, From, Subject, Received, Sent. If you click on Received it should change it back to last received at the top. The first two headings put in alphabetic order and the last two date order. Hope this helps.

Thanks gh34. I fiddled with the headings a bit and eventually right-clicked on Date. This gave me the option to choose 'sort ascending' or 'sort descending'. Inevitably I chose the wrong one first....
