Printer Problem

I have 2 printers connected to computer . They are both properly connected and recognised by computer. One printer prints without any problems but the second one keeps giving error answers. There is nothing wrong with the second printer as it can copy documents and print photos but it just cannot accept commands from my computer. Any help would be appreciated.

Unless the two printers are identical, you probably have the wrong drivers installed for the one which gives error messages. I wonder why you didn't think to post a sample of the error message?

uninstall and re-install the second printer and see what happens.

Two printers are different makes. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it twice and still have the same error messages coming up. It is nearly impossible to get online answers from these printer companies as it is hard to explain the problem and get the proper answer and their help lines would appear to be situated on the other side of the planet.

I'm not surprised that's it's hard to explain the problem if you are determined to keep the content of the error messages secret.

Folk in this thread wish to be helpful. I feel that rojash has more knowledge than I have on computer problems, but, without knowing what the 'error message' actually says, it becomes impossible to suggest a solution to the problem which prevails.

It would be nice if we knew what O/S your using and what the printers are.

It would appear that in Windows XP I was using Service Pack 2 instead of Service Pack 3 and this somehow caused the problem with the print drive performance. I updated to Service pack 3 and everything iis now Ok. Anyway I will be coming back soon to ask you folks another question soon.

I have learned over the years not to overload the system as it always causes problems and I have had to use my recovery disks many times due to my mistakes. The amount of time spent on fixing issues caused my myself is crazy so I will be more careful in future!
