Windows 7 HP.

Sudden onset no broadband connection. Modem fine, router fine.

On starting, no desktop picture, just this message:

"Windows is not genuine"

Have tried Ibuprofen 600mgms........no improvement, so don't suggest that.

It does not surprise me, when I saw the first suggestion to run CHKDSK and SFC I thought that was a total waste of time (I nearly said so yesterday but did not want to be accused of being negative).

There have been cases reported where genuine copies of Windows have been highlighted as not genuine.

A search on "Windows is not genuine" may find some suggestions.

Thanks everyone, you have demonstrated how littl I know about modern communicative technology...........I shall call in the PC Doctor.

Much appreciated...will let you know the diagnosis and treatment when the PC has been examined.
