I am using a lap top at the moment but I do have a desk top computer HP Pavilion with Windows 8 and I can sometimes get on to the internet - I am with BT Hub 3 router - but it keeps going on to "connection is limited " and I cannot get on at all. I have done various trouble shooting tests and it keeps coming up "wi fi does not have a valid configuration. Does anyone know how this can be fixed as it is driving me crazy. I have tried ringing BT but they were of no help.

Open an elevated command prompt, using the instructions here:

Type 'netsh winsock reset catalog' (without the quote marks) and hit Enter

Type 'netsh int ip reset reset.log hit' (again without the quote marks) and hit Enter.

Reboot

Thank you so much Buenchico - if I can get a connection on to the internet for a short time, I will definitely try this.
