I meant to put that re-installing it might restore any files or registry entries that have gone missing and are causing the uninstall problems. I don't remember having any problems getting rid of Chrome a few months ago.

From Start Menu click open Control Panel then click onto Programmes and features. Find Google Chrome in the list of programmes, click onto it and click uninstal.

If you have already done this, I regret being unable to offer an alternative suggestion, at this stage.

I have already done that Alston, but your advice is much appreciated.
try re-installing it and see if it then appears in that list (and if it does then you can uninstall it)
craft...Is there any special reason why you wish to remove Google Chrome.

If by chance it's to install another browser then there's really no need. You can have as many Browsers as you like. I have four....Internet Explorer Google Chrome, Safari and my default one which is, Firefox.

I am Not anxious to suggest how to 'manually' remove Google because this would involve altering your comp's registry and could cause serious problems without a back up of the Registry.

It does appear in the list bibble, but when you tick it and press uninstall nothing happens.
I don't use it as IE is my preferred browser but I keep getting messages saying that it is using a lot of memory.
