I am trying to send a video taken on my tablet, via e mail but a message tells me the file is too big. The file size is 342MB. What do I need to do?

Upload it to a file sharing site, then give the email recipients a link to download it.

Thanks for that tip, Alice. I'll have a look to see what's on the tablet.
I cant believe you were seriously going try to email a file that is 342Mb in size.

This would take forever to upload from your computer, and the person getting it, if they are on a slow broadband, will take an age to download it.

Even if you upload it to a file sharing site it will still take a long while to upload from your computer to the file sharing site, and a long time for the other person to download.

If you reduce the quality of the video it will become a smaller file and easier to send someone else.

Still too large for email, but not so large to upload and download.

Well. VHG, I am truly chastised!:-(

I have no idea what I can and can't do with videos. It's only a three minute clip of a line dance class and one of the other ladies asked me to send it to her. I cheerfully said, 'Yes, of course.' and now I'm completely stumped.
Could I put it onto a memory stick would that work?

Thank you, Alice.

P.S. I may be back!

How do I download the video onto my laptop, please?
Can you pair both devices to each other via wireless connection or bluetooth?
Question Author
I have a lead that goes from one to the other but I don't know how to get the video from the tablet on to the laptop. I'm sorry to be so dense.
do you have kies on the tablet? probably in the settings under wireless and networks?

Question Author
Yes, mccfluff I've found kies. Now what?
im assuming you have wireless?

enter kies and follow the steps, it will give you an address to type into your browser, something like
142.15.42.12
type that in where you would put www.theanswerbank.co.uk

and that will sync to you phone and all the contents will be on your laptop, find the video and save it somewhere on the lappy
Question Author
Thank you, mccfluff. I will try that. I think I have a problem with the basic concept of multi media devices and how they are able to be linked. I'm not very technical.

Thanks for your patience, everyone.
Im sure you'll be fine, i managed to do it and it seemed pretty simple :-)

I need to get to know the tablet a bit better. I don't use it to its full potential.
Think you need Kies on the laptop/pc as well, available here

http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP

You can use the usb to connect as well
Assuming your pc or laptop is Windows, when you connect your tablet to it you will be able to see the tablet in Windows Explorer.
From there you can drag and drop files from one to the other.

You should also get the Autoplay box, making transferring files easy peasy.
http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-transfer-files-to-the-samsung-galaxy-tab-fr.html

You should learn how to do this so that you can back up files to your pc and move photos, video, music etc from your pc to your tablet should you want to

I've got some playing around to do. I might help if the tablet actually had a user manual. All I do is use it for you tube and photographs. I need to get myself sorted out.
Manual here, click on the d/l button
