I Phone Email Set Up

Since I upgraded my BT Broadband to Infinity yesterday, I can no longer get emails on my iphone 4. When I try to view the emails it just says :::

Cannot get Mail The connection to the server failed.

I can get emails on my PC and my Samsung Tablet. The router is up and running OK as I can access the internet without any problems.

In settings on my iphone, under Outgoing Mail Server, it says SMTP ( don't know what that is ) it has Yahoo! SMTP Server.

Is this right ? I am not sure how I set up the email bit on the iphone when I first had it, as its a while ago now.

I tried deleting the P/W and putting it in again and hey presto...its now working !
