Java Update Scam?
I keep getting a message saying ''outdated version of Java detected , Update now!''
When it happens it takes over the entire screen and I have to turn off and reboot to get rid of it. Is this a scam or is there a problem with Java?

Whilst in the background I can see a faded out video of the event I want to watch. Yes it is scam, as when you download it you get a raft of malware, spyware and just general nasty stuff. If you want to update java do it via the official java website. Even when you have the latest version you will still get popups telling you your version is out of date.

Unless you visit certain sites that require you to have Java, it is better to un-install it from your Computer.
There are some On-line Games Sites that still insist on using Java, which has over the years been open to a number of viruses. Who knows, perhaps it now has a 'nastie' attached to it.
Hans.
