Trouble Connecting My Epson Xp-305 Printer Wirelessly To My Laptop
11 Answers
I have an Acer Aspire E15 laptop and I want to connect my Epson XP-305 printer to it wirelessly but it does not seem to be picking it up.
I have Windows 8 and do not have a disc for the printer.
The printer worked fine with my last laptop.
Can anyone walk me through what I should do as I want to scan something from my printer to my laptop.
When I press the Epson Scan button on my Desktop I get the message Cannot Communicate With The Scanner.
I downloaded the Epson XP-305 software off there website.
Thanks in advance.

Which software did you download? You need, at the very least, Epson Scan (v3.792) AND Driver (v7.01). Have you downloaded and run BOTH files? Have you restarted your computer after doing so? (It's sometimes necessary when installing new drivers).

Downloaded and tried to install Driver (v7.01) but got the message The Printer Driver Cannot Be Installed On Your Windows System and when I downloaded and tried to install Epson Scan (v3.792) I get to Select A Printer but it does not find the printer even though it is switched on and on the same wireless network as my laptop, that is as far as I get.
The probable reason why the Epson Scan software can't find the printer is simply because its driver isn't installed. It might be your anti-virus software (or other security software) that's blocking the installation. Try booting your laptop into Safe Mode with Networking (via pressing F8 during the boot process) and trying again to install the driver.
If you still get stuck, try asking Epson for assistance. They offer both live online chat and conventional telephone support during office hours, as well as assistance via email:
