Have just very, very carefully applied for my over 70 drivers licence on line - when I got to the last page and before I could press 'finish' the web page expired - do I have to begin again? I did get a government gateway password so do you think that's valid or is it a complete new application? Many thanks and I'm now going to have a glass of wine!!

Oh, I've just received confirmation that my application has been submitted so the glass of wine is a celebration of my mastery (mistressy?) over technology - this time at least. Sorry to have bothered you.
Well done rsvp. Nightmare some of those govt. and dvla sites.Haha
IF you do something through the gov gateway the current page is automatically saved so if you get 'cut off' you can go back on and resume what you are doing
Just a thought rsvp. Were you renewing from an existing plastic card licence with photo, or the old paper licence without photo? If it was the old paper licence, you will receive a form in the post requiring you to attach a photo. You then post that back and your plastic photo licence comes back in 3-4 days. Warning it does not flatter.

Thanks retrochic - as I got a confirmation that everything had gone through I've assumed all is well.
Togo that's not what I understood from the on line form - no mention of a new photo so have sent off old cut up licence and have fingers crossed. Will watch the post with interest.
