A Net Book ?
Question Author
Ooh 'eck, retro...never heard of them, back in bit>>>>>>
Depending what you want it for beware of a machine without a proper keyboard, if that's what you're used to. You might find it's no problem but so many people on here seem to curse their tablet for mis-posts. Try one in a computer shop before you commit yourself.

My daughter loves her Kindle Fire from Amazon
We have had one for about 3 years. A Samsung from PC World. Not very expensive. Just like a small laptop in fact. We use ours for internet/e-mails on holiday etc. Doesn't pinch too much of your baggage allowance. Mine lives quite comfortably in an old 2nd WW Respirator Bag so quite small and light
What exactly do you want to do on the new machine? Tablets are great for browsing the internet, emails and social media but not so good for typing long documents. Storage is limited, too. I use my smart phone more than my tablet.

If you need a proper keyboard look at a Chromebook. These have their limitations, too, because there is practically no storage on the machine itself - it is all done in the cloud, so if you have no internet access it is unusable.

Netbooks do have a hard drive but very little RAM, usually 1 or 2GB, which can make them slow and clunky to use. Both netbooks and Chromebooks should have long battery lives, which is important if you use it on the move a lot.

I love my smartphone.

Does this look any good? x x
Baths
That looks good for the price.
I also forgot to add I like my Netbook because it has three USB ports but it is 3 yrs old. The one you show has wi-fi so is a more updated version than mine.
No, Baths, it's a load of rubbish. Half a gig of RAM, dreadful display and it's not a netbook. It's a Chromebook rip off with very little storage (4GB).
Also it has a US keyboard. Some people might be okay with that but I'd find it annoying.
No mention of battery life so it's going to be carp.

Have just looked at some Chromebooks.....they're bit more than I want to pay,
but thanks, hc

How much do you want to spend and what do you want to do with it?
Question Author
hc,....what do you mean by "dreadful display? Also low battery life wouldn't be a problem for me....I wouldn't be taking it anywhere ;)

I want to spend £70 max and have heart set on proper keyboard now,...didn't think they were possible on small ones!!

The display resolution is very low so the text and pictures you look at will appear grainy and certainly not sharp. I would go as far as to say that text will not be pleasant to read with that resolution on a 7" screen.

You still have not said what you want it for. If you are going to use it plugged in why not have a refurbished laptop?
