I have just installed a new Brother DCP1610W 3 in 1 printer. It is connected wirelessly to my Toshiba Satellite C50D-A-12U laptop running Windows 8.1.

I always install the user manual saving it to my desktop, and refer as needed. Today I wanted to print off one of the pages. I opened the file and waited for all pages to fully load. I then selected print and then "current page". It showed that it was "preparing to print" and then that it was printing. However after a few seconds, the screen froze and the mouse cursor could not be moved, indeed nothing on the laptop worked, including escape. The page did not print. The only option to bring the laptop back to life was to remove the battery and reboot. I tried twice more, with the same result.

I selected a couple of other PDF user manuals for other items, and pages from them printed ok.

Can anyone help offer a solution as I would like to print off several pages ffrom the brother user manual for quick reference. Thanks

Try downloading the user manual from the Brother Support Web site and see if you can print using that copy instead.

Thanks Pinkyboyid. I tried what you said, and it worked. I saved it to my desktop and again it worked. I then tried the original one on my desk top - and that now worked!! No idea why it froze things up before - but that computers for you. Thanks for your help
