I scanned a page of data to add to my documents for later emailing to a friend. Instead, the image superimposed itself on my start page, (the one with the icons and short cuts on). I don`t know how this happened, nor do I know how to get rid of it!
An ideas please?

You haven't given much info, so this is just a guess. Right-click in a clear area of the desktop (that's the thing that you are calling the start page). Choose Personalise. Under "Background" select Solid colour. Choose a color.

Thanks a lot, that was perfect! One more solution to add to the file if it happens again!
