Hi
Have the following PC at home : LENOVO F0B100LAUK Lenovo C50-30
System Serial Number: S100J981
Chassis Serial Number: S100J981
I have just bought some Logitech speakers, mains powered and with the usual green coloured jack. However the only output on the back of this PC is a headphone socket that I thought (obviously) would be ok to plug the speakers into - but no. All I get is a lot of feedback. Is there anything I can use to counteract this ?? Incidentally, headphones work fine when connected. Many thanks.

Quote from this website:
If your system has internal speakers, the internal speaker in your computer is disabled when an external speaker is connected to the headphone port on your computer.
Is this any help?

It sounds as if your microphone is picking up the audio re amplifying it and causing feedback
Reduce the microphone level or mute it also check that "Listen to this device" is unchecked
Bookbinder, checked out the link and have sent an enquiry to Lenovo vie an online form.
Bertrum, tried what you suggested but without success.
OG, will have alook at what you suggest.
Thanks again folks.

Can't be of much help FBG, except to help narrow the problem down and to ensure speakers are ok, plug them into another source e.g. Walkman, computer, radio or anything else you have that produces sound and takes a 3,5mm jack.
Just as an update, I had a reply from Lenovo who suggested I update the Realtek Audio driver on my system. Tried this today ( seemed to take an age !) but without success.
OG - have ordered an adaptor and will see if that works.
Thanks again all.
