Ladies and Gentlemen from a IT Retard. I am asking this on behalf of my mem sahib who also is not too IT savvy.
She possesses a Ipad Air 2 which does not have a USB port. She has a memory stick with a load of family photos that have been down loaded from the Desktop computer. She wants to know if it is possible to get these photos downloaded on to her Ipad but not on a permanent basis just to use as a screen when visiting friends and not permanently put on a file on her Ipad.
I appreciate your advice. Thankyou.

Hmm. I think that you may need to use cloud based services like iCloud, or Dropbox. Or perhaps a card reader that fits the Ipad charger socket or even a Bluetooth or WiFi hard drive. You have a problem Retro. E mail them perhaps. I have done that.
Cricket Retro....look at this. A usb adaptor for iPad. Never knew there was such a thing.

You may need one of these as well.

First link from Togo is the charging cable.

As has been suggested you could put them in Dropbox, but you would need an internet connection at the relatives house OR mark them as available offline.

You can out them on the ipad then take them off when finished.
Alternatively create a Flickr account - you can make the photos public or private or restrict who can see them - again you would need internet at the relatives house.
if mobility is memsahib's choice, load photos onto CDs jpg & it can be opened on another ipad or pc free of wifi. For photos to be viewed on cell phones, upload to private facebook.
Retro....it is not just a charging cable. It has full sync compatibility to enable file downloads.
Togo - that is the charging cable and the sync part is for when it connects to iTunes - it does not allow you to connect any usb device.
Far easier to back the photos up to Photobucket or similar, then not only does your wife have safe copies they can be viewed anywhere that has a wifi connection.
I've used Photobox for many years, I also use Dropbox.
All Retro needs to do is install the I-usb app. and the iPad will recognise the files/photos held on the flash drive/firestick. I think that you can also move the photos using Apple's Lightning to USB Camera Adapter.
