E mails

I use Freeserve as my e mail provider, but if I e mail anyone with a Hotmail account my mail rarely gets through. On e address in particular I can NEVER send a message to ( I have to use a friend's e mail (BT) and ask them to 'forward' the message on for me). Some time I get no notification of an undelivered message, other times a get notification of undelivered mail one or two weeks later!
My virus protection is AVG, could this be the problem?
