Cleaning a keyboard.
Any tips on how to clean a computer keyboard? I have heard that you can put them in the dishwasher but find this very hard to believe!!!!

My advice is to tip it upside down and tap it lightly on the desk several times. You will be surprised how much cr@p falls out! Dust it (a paintbrush as new_squizzer said or an old blusher brush is good for this, they get into the nooks and crannies) then wipe it over with a damp (not wet) cloth. ...Oh, and a damp cotton bud gets into the hard to reach bits between the keys. Sorted!

As Hammerhead says, tale a pic of keyboard
Oik of the Keycaps
Put them in a pillow case and put them a cool wash in the washing machine, with some other stuff.
Clean the keyboard itself with a damp cloth and a TINY amount of washing up liquid.
Make sure the keycaps are dry before you put them back.
Easier Method
Go to cashpoint
Draw out 3 quid
Buy new keyboard

My keyboard cost nearly 100 it is not going into no dishwasher, it may be a fact that certain keyboards can withstand this treatment but I think it would be highly foolish to try it!!
all keyboards are different, you may get away with it with one, but not all!!
I use a very soft 1" paintbrush and a damp cloth when required!!

Do a google search for keyboard in the dishwasher. See 4 yourself. There are plenty of results to choose from. There are statements below that video too saying that it works. Some say it did not work too but not everything works for everybody. To answer your question, no nothing is set in stone but there are plenty of people that verify its true.
peanut, I actually agreed with you, What I am saying is whilst it may be possible, and more likely possible with a cheap keyboard as there is less likely to be such sophisticated technology. It would be foolish to try it, as if you have an expensive hi tech keyboard, you will certainly ruin it.
So to re-cap> yes I'm sure it is possible with certain keyboards, but unless you want to risk ruining your keyboard, i would give it a miss!!
