What causes system restore to come back with message "Your computer cannot be restored no changes have made". I have tried a number of dates always ending up with same message.

Thanks

Hi keithg, I have no idea why it does it, mine did the same. The way I overcame it was to create a date of my own, it was happy to restore then blooming thing !!

Sorry to be a bit thick but what do mean?
The problem is with my daughter's laptop it was OK last Weds (14th) but now it will connect to internet but will not go on any site justs sits there, I was hoping to restore to an earlier date and clear the problem but it just won't restore.
I have scanned for viruses, found none.
Hi keithg, sorry to take so long getting back to you. When I tried to do a system restore on my pc last week it would not let me if I tried to use the computers own restore point. I have the facility to create a new restore point and having done this I was able to go ahead and it restored successfully. I just picked a random date a few weeks ago (12/02/2007) and it accepted my choice of date, strange it would not work from the calender dates it gives you to choose from the first times I tried. Hope this explains a bit more .
