I work mainly with MS Word, however over the last couple of days the top and bottom margins have vanished.
I have been into page Set-up and tried to increase the margins - now at 2.7cm (not sure what the default is) but the text still starts at the top of the page and goes right through to the very bottom.
If I was only using it now and then it would not matter - but I use Word for much of my 'work' and it is a real pest.
If it is just on the screen, move your cursor either to the very top of your document or to a break between two pages - it should change to a different icon with a little up arrow and a little down arrow. If you double click when you get this icon, it will go back to normal.
Don't ask me why this works, I just know that it does :-)
Click 'View > Header & Footer' to put the headers and footers in. Your margins should reappear, complete with the header & footer (which you don't want). Now click 'View > Header & Footer' again. This should remove the unwanted components but leave the top and bottom margins in place.
Tried your solution first and it worked. It has been driving me nuts for a couple of days. Thanks.
CheekyChops - never got as far as your solution, not sure about how it printed as I didn't even try printing.
This is the sort of problem that I hate. The little problems that drive you nuts. I got the MS Word from a very reputable Ebay dealer (who has strangely ceased trading) and I was concerned that the disc was corrupted!
Thanks to both of you, at least I can get back to writing my book.
