I keep getting full screen adverts from Windows Internet Explorer. Does anyone else, and how can I stop it?
I have AVG 75 security, which tells me my system is clear with no bugs.

Any suggestions please? Thanks.

have you got the pop up blocker on?
Have you scanned for spyware.
Is your firewall on?
You can stop them by editing your Hosts File...either add one site at a time as they appear or for an easy way to block them all...-well hundreds of them anyway-

Download the Hosts File from here...it gives a step by step guide on how to use it.

The Hosts file is a good addition but it stops redirects, not popups. If you dont have an anti-spyware program download AVG's from http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

update it and run it.
Mac i was getting party poker and all sorts of full page adds etc after i reformatted and before i edited and added the forementioned Hosts File...once i added the list to my file they stopped completely...

The Hosts File given on that page blocks ads/banners etc as well as the third party cookies that throw up the adds that come up without URLs.

If you're not comfortable using the file download try this free app from MajorGeeks...see if it works for you.

Thank you all, I'll try them.
But Mac, I have got AVG 7.5, which has spy ware, and it reports 'no bugs'.
@bekka
I use Kubuntu now so dot need it, but I do recommend it.

@1rovert
AVG 7.5 is an anti-virus not an anti-spy. When you have tried their AS (which is only a 30day full product trial) let us know if you are still having problems.

Hi! Mac. My version has got spy-ware. Its not the free one, I paid for, and is for two years. I am going to e-mail them, and see if they have any suggestions. Thanks anyway.
