Memory Card Reader

Another one from the Cowboy (should stick to chasin cattle) but what other uses can you get from a memory card reader? Can you store info from the pc onto it and transfer to another pc?

My card reader doesn't hold information - it reads it from cards, allowing me to access it on my pc.

As soon as the card is removed from the reader the information is no longer accessible, unless I download it to my hard drive.

If you put a memory card into a reader,your computer treats it as another drive.You can copy files /data to it and use it just like a USB flash drive,so if you plug it into another cardreader on another computer you can access it.One word of caution,cards used this way will almost certainly need formatting in the camera if you intend to use them later in a digital camera
