I've got an HP Pavilion laptop with Windows Vista and just recently my two USB ports are not working - I can't use my USB mouse or my pen drive. When I go on to devices in the control panel it has a yellow exclamation mark next to the USB port symbol. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but then they don't reinstall - what can I do??

could you pin it down to a window's update?
there are a few issues with vista, usb and mouses (mice - meeces - moose?)

you could try a system restore.

but first try deleting the devices and then reboot.

if that doesn't work try downloading/installing the latest system drivers (should be available from the website.

finally ... the last chance .... use f11 to restore your system to factory default
