How do I put downloaded vid's onto disc??

Can anyone tell me in layman's terms how I can put some T.V programs I have downloaded onto a D.V.D please?? I have managed it with music so (wrongly!) thought it would be just as simple.

I am using D.V.D+R discs and I have a D.V.D rewriter. Please help, I am a computer div!

google for sothink dvd maker and download it (its free) then all you do is add your files you want to put on dvd and the programme will convert them to a dvd format and burn them to disc for you.a 2hr film takes about 2hrs start to finish.

Thank you both for your help, I have nearly managed to get there, it won't recognize the discs though, I've tried a few and the disc draw just keeps opening and it says 'please insert a writable disc'. Aaaaarrgghhh!!!
